| A separator is a header element representing a logical boundary or interface between other header elements. For instance, it could represent the air interface or PSTN in wireless applications.

| Separators are not lifelined and thus cannot send/receive messages or host state, action, block, or timer elements.
|
|
|
| Separators are added and modified using the Separator Input Form:
|

| TIP: Pressing the Esc key will clear the contents of the input form and return the focus to the Type combo box. You can then select the type of element you want to add from the dropdown or by typing the first few letters of the desired selection.
