RTF Export
Sequence Diagram Editor  Top  Previous  Next

Rich Text Format (RTF) is a document format that is compatible with most word processing applications. RTF export can be used to create an RTF document from a subset of the diagrams in the system file. To start the process, invoke the RTF Export command from the file menu (File | Export | Export to RTF...) to display the RTF Export dialog.

Note, while the size of the generated RTF file can be large due to the embedded EMF objects, Microsoft Word can significantly reduce the size of these files. You can open the generated file using Word and save it as a Word document, or use the Insert->File command in the file menu to add the RTF file to an existing document. Microsoft Word can often reduce the size of the documents by a factor of 20 or more.

The generated RTF document contains all diagram images embedded in the document using EMF (Enhanced Metafile) format.

Microsoft Word™ or another RTF capable word processing application can then be used to open, print, edit, or copy the document. Many word processing applications also support embedding or linking other documents using a master document concept.
