Creating a New Diagram  
 Sequence Diagram Editor  Top  Previous  Next

New diagrams can be created directly through the diagram explorer (see Create New Diagrams) or by invoking the File | New | New Sequence Diagram or File | New | New Item... commands. These commands display the New Item dialog where the type of item to create and the name of the item can be entered.  
 
 
 
Type
Type of item to create (should be set to Sequence Diagram to create a new diagram)
Name
Name of the diagram to create
Template
Name of the diagram to serve as a template for the new diagram (blank if there is no template)
Select...
Click to display the template selection dialog and select a diagram to serve as template
Clear
Clear a previously chosen template diagram (no template)
Header Only
Select to use only the header elements of the template diagram in the new diagram
Header & Body
Select to use both the header and body elements of the template in the new diagram
OK
Complete new diagram creation
Cancel
Cancel the diagram creation
 
 
Using diagram templates can simplify and speed up the creation of related diagrams.
