Adding New Body Elements
Sequence Diagram Editor  Top  Previous  Next

The input form is used to add new body elements to the diagram. The insertion position must be placed in the body section of the diagram in order for the input form type selector to contain body elements.

To add a new body element to the diagram:
·Place the insertion position in the desired location for the new element (see Moving The Insertion Position)
·Select the appropriate type of element from the input form type combo box
·Fill in desired information for the element
·Click the Add button to add the new element

The insertion position and element type can be changed at any time before the Add button is clicked.

The add can be cancelled by clicking the Cancel button or pressing the Esc key.

Sequence Diagram Editor provides several commands to simplify the process of adding body elements to the diagram. These commands can be accessed through the diagram menu (Diagram | Add), context menu, or sequence diagram toolbar. These commands do not actually add the element; instead they pre-fill some of the input form fields based on the chosen element and previous diagram contents. Note: the insertion position must be in the body section of the diagram for these commands to be enabled.
