Diagram Menu

Sequence Diagram Editor Top Previous Next

The Diagram Menu provides commands to modify diagram properties, change the diagram's scale, group/ungroup header elements, free note commands, and commands to add diagram elements.

Diagram Properties	Display the Diagram Properties dialog box
Scale Menu	Change the scale of the active diagram
Group	Group selected header elements
Ungroup	Ungroup all elements belonging to selected Group element(s)
Bring to Front	Bring a free flow element (like a note) to the front of the Z-order
Send to Back	Send a free flow element (like a note) to the back of the Z-order
Free Notes Menu	Add, select, or reset the size of free note elements in the diagram
Change Element Type	Change the type of the selected element to another compatible element type (e.g., from call message to asynchronous message)
Add	Add body elements at the current insertion position
Edit Documentation...	Displays a dialog box to edit the documentation of the currently selected item (see Editing Element Documentation Notes)

Scale Menu

The difference between scale and zoom is that the diagram scale is also used when the diagram is printed and exported, whereas the zoom is only used for display purposes.

Normal	Set the diagram scale to normal (1:1)
To Page Width	Set the diagram scale so the entire diagram width fits in one page
To Whole Page	Set the diagram scale so the entire diagram fits in one page
Custom...	Display the Diagram Properties dialog box focused on the Scale tab

Free Notes Menu

Insert	Start free note insert mode (see Inserting Free Notes)
Reset Size	Reset the size of the currently selected free note to fit the note contents
Select Previous	Select the previous free note in the diagram
Select Next	Select the next free note in the diagram
Set Anchor	Set the anchor element of the currently selected free note (see Anchoring Free Notes)

Diagram Add Menu

Used to add a body diagram element at the current insertion position and initialize some of the fields of the associated input form based on the contents of the diagram. These commands are typically invoked through their associated shortcuts or toolbar buttons. See Adding New Body Elements for further description of each command.
