| Represents the deletion (or availability for garbage collection) of an object or other lifelined header element. It could also signify the end of a process or thread of control.

| After the destroy element, the lifeline for the associated header element is show using a dashed pattern to indicate the header element is no longer available.

| Destroy elements are added or modified using the Destroy Input Form:

| TIP: Pressing the Esc key will clear the contents of the input form and return the focus to the Type combo box. You can then select the type of element you want to add from the dropdown or by typing the first few letters of the desired selection.
